Lunch at Culamar: Coastal Italian Dishes Paired with Perfect Wine.

We had an unforgettable lunch at Culamar in downtown Franklin—potato crocchette, poke bowls, chicken cotollette salad, Lunaria “Ruminat” 2022 wine, and an incredible rooftop bar. Across from Culaccino (same owners), with a Nashville spot opening soon.

If you haven’t experienced Culamar, you’re missing one of Franklin’s most enjoyable lunch destinations. My wife and I recently stopped in, and from our first bite to the final sip, everything was delightful.

We began with the Potato Crocchette—crispy on the outside, creamy inside—served with truffle fonduta, crispy prosciutto, chive parmigiano, and fried parsley. A rich, savory starter that sets a high bar.

For entrées, we ordered two highlights:

   •   Cotolette di Pollo Salad – a beautifully cooked chicken cotollette with lemon, caper, thyme, butter sauce, balanced by a fresh panzanella salad.

   •   Poke Bowl – ahi tuna, snow crab, black rice, edamame, cucumber, carrot, avocado, scallion, kale, ceci beans, sriracha aioli, sesame seeds—vibrant, fresh, and full of flavor.

For wine, I selected a bottle of Lunaria “Ruminat” 2022 Primitivo, and our sommelier Lee confirmed it was the perfect pairing, rounding out the meal beautifully.

Ambiance & Rooftop Bar

Culamar blends coastal Italian cuisine with a casual elegant ambiance, featuring large glass windows that overlook Franklin’s historic downtown . It is also home to Main Street’s only rooftop bar, offering sweeping views, handcrafted cocktails, seafood-forward small plates, and cozy fire-side lounges . The bar has received praise in local outlets like Williamson Source and Yelp, and is routinely named among the best rooftop scenes in Williamson County
